Today a handwritten prescription is read, interpreted, retyped, then the result goes back on paper. Each step adds delay and a risk of error.
What the Hub link changes
The practitioner issues, the laboratory receives, the result returns to the patient record. The pharmacy on the network sees the prescription and can verify it. The circuit stays the same, but it no longer goes back through paper.
